Shot/Sand Blasted & Primed:
The product is first cleaned with sand or shot to remove any loose surface scale or rust. Products are then primed with anti-rust undercoat primer before being painted in the colour of your choice.
Sand blasting is a very effective means of cleaning and preparing metalwork before it is painted. Priming and then painting is a very cost effective means of weatherproofing metal, however it lacks the longevity of some of our other finishing options.

Galvanising:
Our galvanising service is carried out by a specialist galvanising company, Galco Steel Ltd. Each product is first cleaned in an acid bath to remove all oils, dust or other surface impurities. The metal is then submerged in liquid zinc at 450 degrees C. The liquid zinc aheres to the metal surface, protecting the steel from the weather for many years.
Galvanising is the most effective weatherproofing technique available for mild steel products and will, in general, last a lifetime. The aesthetic finish of galvanising may not suit everyone's taste, however Q-Tech offers a wide range of finish options through our Electro-Static Spray or Powder coating services, which are available in the colour of your choice. Electro-Static Spray:
Material is cleaned thoroughly to remove all oils, dust or other surface impurities. Material is then painted with long lasting, 2-pac paint (paint + hardner), giving a lustrous, long lasting finish. Active electic charges cause an attractive force between the product and the paint, ensuring that the paint covers the entire product and aheres excellently, even in difficult to reach areas.
Electro-Static Spray gives an excellent finish and is available in a wide range of colours, which when applied to galvanised material will give you a high quality, maintenance free finish for years to come. Q-Tech can carry out Electro-Static spray work in our workshop or, for best results, on site after all fitting and handling to give a spotless, blemish free finish.

Powder Coating:
The products, once fabricated, are shipped to a specialist powder coating sub-contractor. Products are first thoroughly cleaned and then spray painted with high grade, super fine powder paint before being oven baked to give a high quality, extremely durable finish. Powder coating is best applied to galvanised products but this is not essential.
